This is a selection of some of the positive reviews we've received from our valued residents.
Management is great and super helpful, they will respond almost always within 30-1hr and get a solution for any issues needed. They have installed a lot of upgrades recently, and are incredibly reasonably priced. They are also installing new security features on the doors, so thats great! We have had new carpet in both apartments and an upgraded AC unit. I have been in both a one bedroom and two and enjoyed it. Lots of parking, patios, allows pets. We have never had any pest issues or had to treat anything, even the vestibules are cleaned and swept. Always plows when it snows and laundry is on site for cheap. Great place and will continue living here for years to come. Feb 2024 (about a year later) update: new security features on the door make the units basically impossible to get into without breaking the door down. We really love our 2 bed and our garden. Shannon, the landlord, is so kind and has been great to manage this place.

This is a great little place, especially for UIndy students. It’s so close to campus, you can even walk to class. The apartments themselves are clean and are very easy to make cozy/homey. One thing I was worried about before living here was safety, but the parking lot is really well lit at night and they’ve added cameras. I’ve never had any issues and I’ve felt safe the whole time I’ve lived here. The property manager is very responsive and has been helpful whenever I’ve needed anything.

I had never been to Indianapolis before I moved here, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Since I was about to begin school at UIndy, I wanted a complex that was going to be within walking distance of campus so I wouldn’t have to drive everyday. One thing led to another and I found out about the option of One Somerset and the roommate matching system Shannon has in place. With that being said, I think it’s fair for me to say that Shannon has been a fantastic landlord in my time living here. Every time I have contacted her about a problem, she has always been quick to respond and gets things squared away. She is also very nice and always seems like she wants to help no matter the situation! Feel free to reach out and talk to her if you’re looking for something, I think it’s a good first step in your search!

This is a great little place for any college student or just someone living on their own. Rent includes utilities except electric, but is very reasonable. I love that it is pet friendly, so that allowed me to bring my dog with me. :) Shannon and Shawn are awesome landlords and any issues that I had were resolved quickly! They are both super friendly and generally care about you!

I was past resident under the previous owner and things are much better this time. Shannon does a great job of keeping up with things and is so helpful. The apartments are pretty quite even with being pet friendly ! It is great for me because I have two dogs that like to sleep a lot.

I have had to opportunity to live at Somerset for a year and a half. I just recently moved out due to graduation :) I have lived in the 2 bedroom, and the 1 bedroom. Both apartment layouts use the space well. The apartment is also pet friendly. Shannon and Shawn are the best landlords I have ever encountered. Once you are a tenant, Shannon's office phone is connected to her cell phone so that you can reach them with any problems you need. I have always had a positive experience with maintenance, Alex, is a very sweet guy. Any other problems I had I could walk over to the office, or text Shannon. They always responded in a timely fashion, for me, she typically responds in the same hour if it is of importance. The price for the apartment given the location is affordable for college students, and cheaper than an on campus dorm or on campus apartment. Another positive to Somerset is that you only pay rent and electricity. Plus, it is walking distance to campus, and campus police still patrol the area around Somerset because it is in between College Crossings and The Lofts (both on-campus uindy apartments). The sense of community Shannon and Shawn foster at their apartment complex is awesome. Since I have lived there, they are constantly improving and upgrading things. They have repaved the parking lot, moved their leasing office into a more central location on the complex, painted the entire exterior of the complex, landscaped and planted flowers in the spring, and replaced the roof on all apartments. If I could move Somerset closer to my new job I wouldn't have moved because Shannon and Shawn are so great! Whether you are looking for a two bedroom or a one bedroom, if you are a UINDY student or someone looking to save money, this is the place for you.

I lived here for a year. Apartments make good use of the space, with a lot of cabinets and closets. Shannon and Shawn have done a lot in the past year to fix the place up: new roofs, improved laundry facility, new carpets in the hallways, etc. Maintenance issues were handled relatively quickly. The portable A/C unit the apartment came with wasn't really enough to cool the place down in the summer though, and closet doors were not installed very well. We had a few run-ins with mice in our apartment, and while they did eventually send a pest control person over, it wasn't until we had already handled the situation ourselves. Overall, it's a decent place to live, especially for college-age people.
